Using an external subscription preference center with Pardot

Under Marketing > Segmentation > Lists (https://pi.pardot.com/list), create a new list called “People Who Clicked The Wrong HR Unsubscribe” (you can save it into a folder called “/Uncategorized/Lists”).
Check the “Public List” box, which means that it will display in Pardot’s email preference center.
Give it a “Label” of “This is not actually the correct link for unsubscribing, but our email tool would not let us hide it adequately.” and a “Description” of “Please click the other unsubscribe link that was in the footer of your email.”
In the “Select an email preferences pages to add…” dropdown, choose “Fake preference center page HR”.
Under Marketing > Campaigns (https://pi.pardot.com/campaign), create
Under Marketing > Emails > Preference Page (https://pi.pardot.com/emailPreferencesPage), create a new Email Preferences Page called “Fake preference center page HR”.
Give it a “Title” of “Wrong page”.
OK, I’m not able to create a campaign, so I’m just going to edit the Title of the page named “Default Email Preferences Page” from “Email Preference Center” to “Wrong page”.
Then I changed “Form Content > Before Form Content” from “Select which lists you would like to receive email communications from.” to “Please click the other subscription preference management link from your e-mail.”
And I added “AGAIN, THIS WILL NOT DO ANYTHING.” into “Form Content > Submit Button” from “Save Preferences” to “This button does nothing meaningful.”
I changed “Form Content > After Form Content”.
Then I changed “Thank You Content > Thank You Content” from “Your email preferences have been saved.” to “Thanks for trying to unsubscribe, but this was the wrong unsubscribe-link. Please go back to your e-mail and use the other link that was right next to this one (our e-mail tooling would not let us get rid of this one altogether). Thank you.”
You can leave “Tags” and “Archive Date” blank, and you can leave “CRM Visible” unchecked.
