How is a web calendar made?

I’m a big fan of Fastmail (use my referral code if you try it?) because it’s the only easy-to-use hosted e-mail service I’ve found that lets you receive and send e-mail using [email protected] (what they call “subdomain addressing“). I’ve set up friends & family with accounts.
Fastmail’s web calendar is very mobile-web-browser-friendly – so much so that I’ve been studying it to figure out if I can build a “content calendar” component into a Sanity Studio instance.
