💻 Open OBS Studio software at Start menu (Windows icon) -> OBS Studio
Put OBS Studio into “Studio Mode” (buttons, lower right) so that you see “Preview” and “Program” windows.
Configure OBS studio so that you have your intended sound (e.g. your iD14’s sound) and video (e.g. your computer’s webcam) going out the “Program” side.
Tools -> NDI Output settings -> make sure the box by “Main Output” is checked, and give the “Main Output name” a value of “OBS Main
,” then click “OK.”
Minimize OBS Studio.
💻 Open NDI Virtual Input software at Start menu (Windows icon) -> NDI 4 Tools –> Virtual Input
Find the yellow and black icon in your system tray that says “NDI” and right-click it.
At the top of the pop-up menu, follow the menu item above “None” that says the name of your computer, and then click “OBS Main
” if it doesn’t have a checkmark (you want it checked).
💻 Open NDI Studio Monitor software at Start menu (Windows icon) -> NDI 4 Tools –> Virtual Input
Click the “hamburger” (3 horizontal bars) icon in the top left, follow the menu item above “None” that says the name of your computer, and then click “OBS Main
” if it doesn’t have a checkmark (you want it checked).
🎤 Make some noise into the studio equipment attached to your iD14 that would be difficult for the built-in iPad mic to pick up.
📏 Confirm that the decibel meter in NDI Studio Monitor indicates the iD14 is sending studio equipment sound to the computer as expected.
👏🏾 Unplug your studio equipment from the iD14 or power it off. Clap loudly near the computer’s built-in microphone and make sure that NDI Studio Monitor’s decibel meter does not spike in time with your claps.
🎉 Yay! Okay, time to shut things down that consume a lot of resources on your computer.
